Philanthropist Ritchie Battle launched the “Battle For Equality: The Ritchie Battle Challenge For Women and Girls” in 2010. This matching challenge campaign encourages other individuals to increase their investments in advancing the rights of women and girls. Each year, since the inaugural year of this challenge, Ritchie has made a lead gift of $50,000 to the Women and Girls Foundation annual fund to support WGF’s work advancing the rights of women and girls. The purpose of this challenge is to encourage more individuals to make an investment in the work of the Women and Girls Foundation.
“What impresses me most about the Women and Girls Foundation is their approach to social change,” explained Ms. Battle. “Their grants empower women and girls by breaking down systemic barriers to equality. I encourage more women to join me in investing in change not charity. Together we can get to the root causes of poverty, wage inequity, domestic violence, and other forms of gender discrimination and begin to improve them.”
To meet the challenge the Women and Girls Foundation must raise at least $50,000 in new donations from individuals this year. Once the match is met, Ritchie will match your donations dollar for dollar.
Please donate today and double the impact of your gift and invest in change that will increase the rights of women and girls throughout our region and beyond.
