2012 GRANTMAKING PRIORITIES

Women and Girls Foundation (WGF) is inviting LETTERS OF INQUIRY (LOI) from organizations across Southwest Pennsylvania to address three mission-based, time-sensitive goals designed to work toward equity for women and girls in challenging times.

Please note that deadlines and award dates are different for each funding focus.

WGF requires that applicants engage a coalition of agencies, advocates, policy makers, and/or employers in developing their plan. The strongest proposals will include “traditional” and “non-traditional” allies and partners, and proposals may be submitted by consortia of non-profit organizations.

Eligible Applicants: 501(c)(3) organizations operating in Southwest Pennsylvania — Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, Westmoreland counties. Grants will not be made to organizations for religious purposes, nor to those working to limit women’s reproductive or other civil rights.

1. ENGAGING WOMEN VOTERS
To support a non-partisan coalition effort to increase female voter turnout and education on issues related to women in PA in 2012.

2. STRENGTHENING WOMEN’S RIGHTS  (Note: The deadline has been extended!)
To support legislative or litigation efforts to protect and strengthen women’s civil liberties and/or economic security rights at the state level.

3. CREATING JOBS FOR WOMEN
To support a coalition effort of non-profit, corporate, and governmental agencies working together to create jobs and increase contracting opportunities for women in SWPA.
