Maris Bondi is the Director of Community Relations and Marketing Operations for UPMC Health Plan, where she focuses her efforts on two major categories: marketing operations and charitable giving. In this role, Maris is responsible for approximately $5 million a year in charitable giving and sponsorships, as well as $3 million in State tax credit programs. Maris’s previous work experience includes the Partnership for Prevention and The MayaTech Corporation, where she focused on government and foundation-funded public health policy research. Maris’s coordinates multi-faceted charitable programs for UPMC Health Plan, including the company’s United Way, Scouting for Food, and March of Dimes programs. Maris is personally committed to many local and regional charities. She has chaired events for Sojourner House and Family House and has served on committees for many others, including the American Heart Association, The United Way, The Neighborhood Academy, St. Lucy’s Auxiliary to the Blind, The Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, and Girls Hope.  Maris served as Chair of the Host Committee for the ATHENA Awards in 2011 and 2012, and  currently serves on the Board of Directors for The National Aviary. Maris’s written work has been published in such esteemed publications as Journal of the American Medical Association and American Journal of Health Promotion.  She was chosen as a Leading Lady by the Oakland Catholic High School in 2013 and the Pittsburgh Business Times named her as one of the top 25 Women in Business in 2013. Maris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.  Maris also has a Master of Health Science in health policy from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
