Suzan is the founder of LGA Partners, LP. She started her firm in 1993 as a sole proprietor and grew the firm to the fifth largest architectural firm in Pittsburgh, with a staff of 62. The firm enjoyed steady growth and has been on the Pittsburgh Business Times list of Fastest Growing Firms for 10 years in a row, with an average annual 25% growth rate. Suzan sold the firm to existing employees and retired in 2019.
Suzan is also a past president, board member or volunteer of several non-profit community development boards, including
- PowerLink, which helps woman-owned businesses grow profitably by assembling advisory panels,
- The CLFund, (now Bridgeway Capital) a non-profit loan fund promoting economic development in the Pittsburgh region,
- Women and Girls Foundation, past board member. – American Institute of Architects, treasurer of local chapter
- Edgewood Garden Club Board, and volunteer

Suzan grew up as in the Mon Valley steel town of Monessen, Pennsylvania, and attended Cornell University and Carnegie Mellon University. She is a 1979 Graduate of Carnegie Mellon with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She lives in Squirrel Hill with her husband and fellow architect Bob Grubb. They have two children, and 4 grandchildren.
