Samantha (Sam) Hartzman is a Pittsburgh native and currently manages the Corporate Citizenship program at Duquesne Light Co. In her role, Samantha is responsible for the company’s charitable giving, employee volunteerism, and sustainability strategy work. Prior to joining Duquesne Light, Samantha worked at BNY Mellon in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) group assisting with their annual CSR report and external benchmarking.
Samantha has worked extensively in both the non-profit and private sector. This has enabled her to deliver strong results in the CSR and Corporate Citizenship space. She is a 2015 graduate of Coro Pittsburgh’s Women in Leadership program and co-founder of Invest in Her, an organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting women owned enterprises throughout Southwest PA.
When Samantha is not working on some of the tough problems facing the world, she’s at home cooking up some of her family favorite dishes on her blog Haute Pepper Bites (www.hautepepperbites.com) along with her son and favorite sous chef. Samantha is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler school of business and has a BA in American Studies and English from the University of Virginia. She resides with her husband, son, and fur babies in Squirrel Hill.
